Independent Chairperson

At critical times within an organisation or when dealing with a specific issue, it is important to ensure all participants'/stakeholders' voices are heard and  that the meeting process is transparent. Aha! Consulting provides a facilitation role as an independent chairperson for advisory groups and/or boards.

As an independent chair, the role is about

• Establishing committee membership and terms of reference
• Helping to plan the agenda
• Ensuring members have the required reading
• Facilitating meetings
• Tracking progress

An independent chairperson leaves the content decisions to the experts but ensures the board's/committee's deliberations are effective, independent and productive. The role can be time limited with a handover to an in-house chair once the group norms or desired outcomes are established.
